The Totescoop6 Victoria Cup provided a popular success for favourite Fastnet Tempest at Ascot this afternoon and in the process saw the Totescoop6 itself won for the first time in four weeks by a solitary ticket. The £8 perm was responsible for the only two remaining lines in play going into leg 6 with both the winner and Above The Rest were the horses covered.

Josephine Gordon’s star continues to rise and she brought William Haggas’ charge with a well timed run to land the successful punter the win fund of £235,627. There will also be the opportunity to add the £343,453 bonus fund next Saturday.

Earlier on in the afternoon Mia’s Storm victory at Haydock was followed by victory for favourite Appeared at Ascot and then 8/1 shot Desert Encounter stormed home to send 224 tickets past the halfway stage. John Constable bolted up in the Swinton Hurdle before a 11/1 success for Tisbutadream meant the winning punter was holding the only two remaining tickets going into the final leg.

Totepool spokesman Matt Hulmes said “Congratulations must go to the successful punter who has negotiated some tricky big field contests and has been handsomely rewarded with £235,627 for their efforts. The bonus fund of £343,453 is now the target next Saturday”.

There were 43 winners of the place fund who each receive £522.00
